A note from the founder — Sep 2026

Operating at the edge of disruption

Every major technology cycle follows the same curve. Corporate processing consolidated into data centres and created cost bloat. The cloud converted fixed capital into flexible innovation. Big data let machine learning unlock value that was sitting in the ledgers all along.

This wave is different. Pervasive intelligence is rewiring knowledge itself — how it is created, how it is valued, how it moves. The jumps between eras are getting larger, and the window to adapt is getting shorter: generative AI reached a level of population use in about three years that took the internet roughly seven and the personal computer fifteen, on Stanford’s AI Index figures. Most of the market is stuck trying to separate utopian aspiration from bottom-line reality.

I've spent twenty-five years on the front lines of technology, through every one of those shifts. During the cloud and data era I built a firm from scratch, engineered a delivery model that made new platforms affordable to adopt, built recurring revenue for survival, and exited to a multinational telecommunications firm. I understand enterprise value because I have built it, scaled it, and cashed the cheque.

The mid-market paradox

Mid-market businesses are the engine room of the economy, and they sit in the hardest seat for this era: without the capital cushion of the conglomerates, with too much operating complexity to move like a startup. In every sector the same paradox — the thing that threatens them is the same thing that could multiply them. I've written that out sector by sector.

What they don't have time for is observation sold as progress — the hundred-page study that covers board risk and stalls the company. The businesses that win this era will work through simultaneous observation and action: find the constraint by operating inside it, and remove it by building.

Why "humanloop"

I named the practice Humanloop because real leverage isn't replacing people with software. It is placing intelligent machinery around exceptional people — to amplify their reach, their judgement, and their output. Technology without human intent is expensive noise. The goal is simple: lift people out of manual execution and into directing outcomes.

So we don't sell retainers, reports, or roadmaps. We join a leadership team in residence for twelve weeks. We observe the operating reality, engineer the solution from first principles, launch the capability, and build the operating layer that keeps it running. Then we hand over the keys.

Timing is the whole question. The gap between the businesses that re-architect now and those that wait will not close, and it is already wider than it looks from inside. We intend to spend the next decade on the right side of it, a few partnerships at a time.
